We all have the power to fight sudden cardiac arrest

This is Europe’s leading cause of death, affecting over 300,000 people each year, 60,000 in the UK alone. The Live is Life Foundation works across many countries to raise awareness and empower people to save more lives, and in the UK are leading the strategic thinking in the treatment of resuscitation in all its guises.

Work with us to change the future, and save lives!

Strategic thinking
in resuscitation

We can save many lives each year, in the UK alone this could be as high as 8,000 a year in addition to the current successes.

Every year, more than 250,000 Europeans die from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) – 60,000 in the UK alone –  because they were not able to receive critical medical care in time. Hearts die at 20% per minute post SCA. Because time is of the essence, it is vital that bystanders perform immediate CPR and have access to nearby automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and other therapies.

Together we can increase the UK RoSC to hospital rate from 25% to 50%. Right now, most of us are simply not aware of this, and our foundation aims to change this.

Let us explain how…

We will empower people across many countries to:

Raise
awareness

We need to make people aware of sudden cardiac arrest –what causes it, how to recognise it, and how we can save the lives of victims ourselves.

Fundraising

A nearby AED saves lives. Via our unique fundraising platforms and projects across Europe, we facilitate and empower people everywhere to have an AED installed in their surroundings.

Get skilled

Learning how to perform CPR and use an AED is crucial. That is why we offer modern methods and systems for training ordinary citizens in how to save a life and be prepared for an emergency.

Choosing
equipment

There are many AEDs available on the market. Most will achieve the same or similar results. However given the community is mainly untrained responders, some offer better solutions than others. Let us help guide you.

Policy

There are many other ways to support resuscitation in the community. Our aim is to campaign for these other products to be made available to the public through changes in local policies and guidance.

Togetherness

We can’t do this alone. Only by working together can we achieve the goals of saving lives. We aim to build a partnership of thought leaders, charities and implementation partners to achieve best practice in everything we do.

Cardiac Arrest is a medical problem with a community solution.
